Amy is a registered MSW clinician with more than 16 years of practice with individuals and families experiencing challenging circumstances. She has experience in the areas of depression, anxiety, grief and loss, maternal mental health, coping in crisis, traumatic experiences, childhood trauma, suicide loss and navigating life changes.
Amy has completed training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy), an effective method for working with individuals who have experienced trauma and distressing situations.
Amy uses a variety of practice approaches including trauma-informed therapy, solution focused therapy, mindfulness methods, crisis intervention and debriefing, grief and loss support, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Amy has experience in psychoeducational opportunities, group work and group support after loss.
Amy’s practice is strengths based, and client centered. She provides a supportive environment and engages in collaborative working relationships. She implements practice approaches and treatment plans based on the needs of the individual. Amy helps individuals identify their own personal strengths, increase their sense of empowerment and build upon effective coping skills and resources. Amy strives to create a caring, non-judgmental space for others to gain support.
